A Letter From Pete & Jilly

We will welcome you to Tussock Heights, with lots of surprises! Come well prepared to have a fabulous and restful holiday.

We believe good holiday begins with a wonderfully comfy King bed, amazing views, caring hosts and all the facilities you need (but probably don’t expect). To make your holiday fun, we have creatively used our 2 acres to the fullest.

We're fortunate enough to be able to offer:

    - A 4 hole short pitch-and-putt golf challenge

    - A target, high powered air rifle shootout

    - A leisurely e-bike ride around the lake, or If you’ re a more “full on” bike rider you may enjoy a 3-hour adventure bike ride and coffee on the way? ( small cost only for bike maintenance)

    - A radio controlled model Yacht race. (small cost only for yacht maintenance.)

    - Visit the recently established Ayrburn Precinct. It’s a 3 -minute drive or 15 minute bike ride down the road or trail. It is an almost indescribable “GEM”. Unique to NZ.

-Visit the exceptional Millbrook Golf course, home of the biggest and best golf tournament in the country, “The New Zealand Open”. Play it or dine it. 3 cafes great staff. AWESOME.

    - Visit the Gold Mining historic Arrowtown with its tree lined river, village eateries, shops, and museum, as well welcoming you will be 1850s Gold mining relics and architecture.

Then there is plenty of winter fun to have too: Skiing or ice skating outdoors. The ski field at Coronet Peak sits just 45-minutes drive away. For night skiing, the peak is ablaze with light and from Tussock Heights it looks like a city atop of the mountain on Wed and Friday nights.
On peaceful, windless early mornings look out the window! You have a good chance to witness a huge colourful hot air balloon drifting by!

Queenstown is referred to, by some, as the “Adventure capital of the world.”
Jet boats, helicopters, rafts, gondolas, a steam boat, horses, skis or your own car can take you on an adventure you will never forget.

See you soon,

Jilly & Peter Yarrell

Set in 2 acres of farmland, Tussock Heights is surrounded by Mountain peaks, amazing... Below you, Hawks glide over the wetlands, looking for a mousey breakfast, and the ski resort, “Coronet Peak” high above stands proud piercing the horizon in full vision.

By winter in the distance, skiers glide slowly out of view on their chairlift journey to the peak station  and by summer skiers are replaced by adventure mountain bikers that race the ski trails which, a few months earlier, were knee deep in snow. Its all action.

A calm, clear morning and a hot air balloon crammed with excited tourist visitors, will fill your camera lens if you awaken early, and by afternoon on windier summer days, a squadron of hang gliders wing their way earthward off the same peak that entertained the skiers.

Mountain bikers that choose the more sedate way of exploring, may  choose to ride the Queenstown trails. They can be watched, off your balcony, as they wind the trails passing Tussock Heights all day long. ..and you can join them on a Tussock Heights bike if that is your want!

We invite you to share the breath-taking views and facilities with us whether you wish to stay for a couple of days or a week. After you arrive you will quickly realise It was one of the best decisions you have ever made.
